Tips 'n Tricks for Working Successfully in a Group

There are many people out there who help us learn...but how much do you think we learn from each other? The answer is a lot, probably more than you can imagine. The result of working in groups was a huge success and I am happy to say that there were quite a number of wonderful displays, packed with detailed information and pictures. For that, great work and I hope you keep doing that!

On the other hand I would like to point out some things which will make working in groups easier and fair for everyone. If you remember these simple guidelines it will make work more exciting and fun for everyone - which includes me.
  • Be respectful. Share your opinions with each other and always work step-by-step together. Would you mind if I ..., Would you like me to...., What can we do to make ...... better? This sounds much better than You do this, I do that.
  • Plan each step together. Everybody should take responsibility for a part of the work. Please remember that if you fail to do your part of the work, the project will not be done properly and others will be unhappy because of you.
  • It isn't necessary to phone or go to your friend's house. Bringing your own part of the work and sharing it with your partners during the break is most encouraged. For each project you will be given the proper amount of time.
  • Finally and most importantly: Be proud of your work! Don't just copy and paste from the internet. That is so boring! No one cares to read a lot of things which they can't understand. Listen to what the speaker or teacher says, look up information but write in your own words.
That's all for today. May next time's group experience be even more rewarding than this time. Great job children!

  2. You can but it is not necessary. You should always take into consideration that not everyone can or likes to do this. Therefore, the best option still remains that when you have group work you can bring your own part of the group work to school and share it there. From there, you can plan what each of you will do at home.

(Please remember to put in your name at the end of your message as I don't always immediately recognise your username.)
